When will this squad play?
The squad will compete in a Sunday men's 11v11 league (SFSFL) and its SFSFL group will train on Wednesdays at Beach Chalet. Additionally, the squad competes in small sided 8v8 leagues on Tuesday and Thursdays, and runs Friday Finishing training sessions to improve shooting technique.
Will the squad practice?
Yes, the squad will practice Wednesdays at Beach Chalet. Attending practice will boost players' position within the squad. Contact us using the contact form on this website to get invited to training to see whether there could be a fit.
How will playing time work?
A player's position within the club will be determined by a variety of factors. First, their dedication to the club cultural values: being accountable to show up, treating their teammates as their brothers, and competing for every single ball. Additionally, a player's fitness, performance, and commitment to personal improvement are other contributing factors. Playing time will be determined on a case-by-case basis and feedback will be available to every individual player on how they can increase their playing time.
What's in a name?
First and foremost, Bluff City is a pretty dope name. Further, one of the nation's greatest cities shares this moniker. Situated on bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River, the city of Memphis, TN is colloquially referred to as the "Bluff City" after the terraces that guard its riverbanks. While being an amazing cultural center of food and music, Memphis is a tough, poor city whose residents must work hard to make it to a better life. Bluff City FC derives its ethos from a willingness to embrace hard work and believes that a group of players that work together with Accountability, Brotherhood, and Competitiveness can achieve heights well beyond their abilities.
